What is a Truck Load?

Some folks will ask what you charge per cubic yard - it varies and this is why

Junk comes in many forms, for instance mattresses stack easily and a mattress is about one cubic yard. A junk hauler can basically stack them as high as he can reach and then strap them down.

Lets say you have five mattresses five box spring and a junk removal service charged $99 for this you would be paying about $8 per cubic yard.

That's an awesome deal.

Then there is loose debris like garbage, scraps of wood, boxes of junk, old clothes. These items stack okay but unless the truck is fitted with sideboards (which most haulers don't do because they charge more at the landfill) the junk can't be stacked as high for safety or weight reasons.

If this junk can only be stacked 5 feet high and you are charged $99 then you are paying $10.80 per cubic yard, still a very, very good deal.
